Houlihan Lawrence partners with aviation startup Blade

Real estate firm Houlihan Lawrence has signed an exclusive partnership deal with aviation startup Blade, a company that allows clients to book flights on demand using a mobile app.

As part of the agreement, videos of Houlihan Lawrence properties will be shown in Blade’s client lounges. The real estate company’s quarterly print magazines will also be available for customers traveling with the New York City-based short-distance aviation company. A Houlihan Lawrence digital lifestyle publication will be displayed on iPads at Blade’s lounge bars and on its jets. Houlihan Lawrence clients can also receive a special discount on Blade services.
“Working with Blade was a natural alignment,” said Anne Marie Gianutsos, chief marketing officer of Houlihan Lawrence. “Both brands embrace common core values: innovation, discretion, and a commitment to providing our clients the finest white-glove service possible.”

Branded “the Uber of helicopters,” Blade offers helicopter, jet and seaplane services from New York City to destinations including the Hamptons, Nantucket, Miami and the Bahamas. Flight options include booking by-the-seat, crowdsourcing an already-scheduled flight or chartering a private flight.
“Together, we are pushing boundaries of grandeur,” said Greg Ramey, director of marketing at Blade. “Through cutting-edge technology and access to a discerning clientele, we are delivering the utmost in service, experience and entertainment.”

Houlihan Lawrence, a company that started in Bronxville in 1888, was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway affiliate HomeServices of America Inc. earlier this year. The company reported $6.7 billion in closed sales in 2016.
