Free financial education workshops March 22

To help individuals better manage their finances, Westchester Community College will host its fourth annual Financial Education Day March 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This year’s event will include more than 20 free workshops addressing some of the most common financial issues individuals face such retirement planning, paying for college or starting a business.

Sharon Epperson, a CNBC senior commodities and personal finance correspondent, will give the keynote address about planning for the future. Later, individuals from  from Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Ameriprise Financial, and other Westchester-based financial firms, will give similar presentations.

“I”™m pleased that this year”™s program features several workshop tracks targeted to different demographic groups, particularly seniors, young adults and women,” said Suzanne Matthews, director of the college’s Center for Financial and Economic Education. “Financial Education Day offers something valuable for everyone””and perhaps most valuable of all is the accurate and unbiased financial information that attendees will receive.”

The event will be held at the Gateway Center at 75 Grasslands Road in Valhalla.
