David Brooks to speak at Manhattanville’s Castle Conversations
Manhattanville College’s Castle Conversations forum will kick off Feb. 16 with a talk from New York Times columnist and political analyst on “PBS NewsHour” David Brooks.
The event, which will be held at 8 p.m. at Manhattanville’s Reid Castle in Purchase, will be hosted by Elliot Forrest of Newark, N.J.-based WQXR radio’s Afternoon Drive. Brooks, also a professor at Yale University, is the author of several books, including “The Road to Character,” published in 2015, and “Bobos in Paradise.” An op-ed columnist, Brooks regularly writes about politics, culture and social sciences.
Brooks’ event is the first of four Castle Conversations talks to be held this year. Future events will feature Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak on April 5, Twyla Tharp Dance company founder Twyla Tharp on Sept. 20, and Union Square Hospitality Group CEO Danny Meyer on Nov. 29.
Manhattanville College president Jon C. Strauss said the speaker series, which began last year, is a way of “reaching out to the community.”
“We want the speakers to stimulate discussions about the radically changing world in which we live,” Strauss said.
