Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson to speak at Manhattanville
Neil deGrasse Tyson, the astrophysicist, cosmologist and director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space in New York City, will serve as the next speaker in Manhattanville College’s “Castle Conversations” forum series on September 9.
The event, which will be held at 7 p.m. in Reid Castle on the college’s campus in Purchase, will feature the author and the former host of the NOVA ScienceNow television show on PBS and the television series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. A Harvard and Columbia University graduate, Tyson will discuss space and time in his talk. His professional research interests include star formation, exploding stars, dwarf galaxies and the structure of the Milky Way.
General seating costs $75. For tickets and information, call 914-323-1277 or visit www.castleconversations.org.
Tyson is the third of four speakers in the 2015 Castle Conversations forum, following Huffington Post co-founder Arianna Huffington in March and journalist Dan Rather in June. Presidential biographer Doris Kerns Goodwin will cap off this year’s talks on December 2.
Manhattanville’s Castle Conversations, which are held throughout the year, are sponsored by Purchase-based MasterCard.
