Puppies from Paws Crossed Animal Rescue, the nonprofit and Volunteer New York! were among the winners at Empire City Casino in Yonkers when the casino hosted an event in support of National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day.

Casino employees set up a miniature assembly line to create more than 100 pull toys for dogs. They used T-shirts that had been cleaned and tested for durability to make the toys that will be used for play, training and social interaction.

Eileen Rooney, acting on behalf of casino President and CEO Timothy J.  Rooney, presented a $1,000 donation to Paws Crossed.

Volunteer New York! Executive Director Alisa H. Kesten said of the Empire City Casino employees, “As strong community partners that care, we”™ll bet on them every single time.”

Jennifer Angelucci, president and CEO of the Paws Crossed shelter, said, “We look forward to partnering again on future outings with this wonderful group of people to share our mission to ”˜Rescue One By One Until There Are None!”™”
