NBC’s Chuck Todd, others, at Fairfield University

The Carl and Dorothy Bennett Center for Judaic Studies at Fairfield University hosts a variety of programs and lectures throughout the year, and its spring lecture series brings to the campus Chuck Todd, moderator of NBC”™s “Meet the Press” and host of “MTP Daily” seen Monday through Fridays on MSNBC. On Tuesday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m., Todd is scheduled to appear at the Quick Center for the Arts. Todd, who is political director for NBC News, will speak on “Politics and Jewish Identify in Today”™s America.” Tickets are $15 and can be purchased through the Quick Center”™s box office.

The 2018 Diane Feigenson Lectureship in Jewish Literature will be presented by Ken Frieden Ph.D., of Syracuse University, on Wednesday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dolan School of Business Dining Room. Friedan will discuss “Traveling to the Holy Land in Jewish Literature and Music.” His presentation will include a musical performance on hammer dulcimer by renowned klezmer musician Pete Rushefsky. The event is free.

The annual Holocaust Remembrance Service features Esther Geizhals, a survivor of Auschwitz & Bergen-Belsen. It takes place on Thursday, April 12, at 4:30 p.m. at Egan Chapel of St. Ignatius Loyola and is co-sponsored with the campus ministry.

On Thursday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m., the Joan and Henry Katz Lecture in Judaic Studies takes place in the Dolan School of Business Dining Room. Christine Hayes, a professor at Yale University, will speak on the topic, “Can We Laugh at God? Humor and Truth in Rabbinic Judaism.” This event also is free.
