Miles named to AACC board
Belinda S. Miles, the president of Westchester Community College, has been named to the board of directors of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). It is the nation”™s leading association for the advocacy of community colleges. AACC is governed by a 32-member board that acts on behalf of the institutional members.
“I am excited to join AACC in providing a voice for the more than 12 million students attending the nation”™s (more than) 1,100 community colleges,” she said.
Since arriving at WCC in January 2015, Miles has worked with faculty, staff and others to increase graduation rates, create new academic and workforce programs and expand resources that help more students transfer to four-year colleges or enter the workforce.
