More than 100 attended a panel discussion titled “Nonprofit Leaders with Impact” hosted by Leadership Westchester, a program of Volunteer New York!, which is designed to help leaders assume positions of influence and impact in the county, particularly as board members of nonprofit organizations.

The panelists were: Cora Greenberg, executive director, Westchester Children”™s Association; Christian Philemon, executive director, Youth Shelter Program of Westchester Inc.; Kevin Plunkett, deputy Westchester County executive; and Sherry Saturno, CEO, Elder Advocacy. They discussed their mission and their impact as local leaders.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Leadership Westchester program. Almost 400 community leaders have completed the nine-month curriculum. On June 20, there will be a graduation ceremony for the Leadership Westchester Class of 2017, followed by the 20th-anniversary event. The graduation ceremony and Alumnus of the Year Award presentation will take place at the YoFi Digital Media Arts Center in Yonkers. Then, across the street at the Zuppa Restaurant and Lounge, 56-61 Main St., there will be a celebration that will include dinner and a silent auction.
