Hirko named assistant VP at Health Quest

Mark Hirko has joined the Health Quest medical practice division of general surgery in Poughkeepsie as the assistant vice president of surgical specialties. He will coordinate and standardize surgical services throughout the Health Quest system, develop undergraduate and postgraduate surgical education programs and collaborate on advanced care.

Hirko previously was chairman of the department of surgery and medical director of the vascular program and vascular lab at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey, where he oversaw more than 200 employees.

He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Akron City Hospital in Ohio, and was a clinical and research fellow in vascular surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.
