Greyston to celebrate open hiring model success at gala

Greyston will host its Annual Gala at X20 Xaviars on the Hudson in Yonkers at 6:30 p.m. on June 15.

The evening cocktail party will highlight the success of its open hiring model at Greyston Bakery, which focuses on a person”™s potential and provides employment opportunities regardless of background or work history. Greyston will also share plans to expand its impact beyond Yonkers.

Honorees at this year”™s benefit are Sobeida Cruz, founder of Charter School of Educational Excellence and Ken Jenkins, Westchester County Legislator.

Food will be prepared by chef Peter Kelly, with beverages provided by Nahmia et Fils and Yonkers Brewing Co.

Members of the Greyston community who have made changes in their lives through its open hiring model will share their experiences, and guests will have the opportunity to partake in a silent auction featuring items from Ben & Jerry”™s, Winston and Son Jewelers, Yonkers Brewing Co., Shakespeare in the Park, Sound Associates and Brand Twist.
