Golf tourney scores $5K for The Kennedy Center

The Kennedy Center based in Trumbull received a donation from Mayor John Harkins of Stratford from proceeds of the Mayor”™s Annual Charity Golf Tournament.

“We greatly appreciate this contribution to The Kennedy Center to help bridge our state funding gap,” said Martin D. Schwartz, the center”™s president and CEO.  Schwartz said the donation will be used for general operating expenses.

Harkins said, “I have been involved with the Kennedy Center for nearly 30 years, first as a legislator and then as a mayor of Stratford. In Stratford, the Kennedy Center operates several group homes and their children”™s services team is headquartered here.”
