Burke Rehab CEO named to AHA board of trustees

Dr. Mary Beth Walsh, executive medical director and CEO of Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, has been named a trustee of the American Hospital Association. Her three-year term on the national board starts in January, Burke Rehabilitation Center announced.

Walsh, who is board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology, has spent 36 years at Burke, serving as CEO and executive medical director since 1995. She also serves as associate dean and associate professor of clinical medicine at Burke”™s academic affiliate in New York City, Weill Cornell Medical College, and is an assistant attending physician at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan.

She received her bachelor”™s degree from Wellesley College and her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. She currently is a member of the American Hospital Association”™s Committee for Process Improvement and served as a delegate with the AHA”™s regional policy board.

The American Hospital Association includes nearly 5,000 hospitals and health care networks and 43,000 people among its membership.
