Andrus names Murphy president and CEO
Andrus, a social service agency based in Yonkers, has named Bryan Murphy as its president and CEO.
Murphy has been with the organization for five years, mostly in his previous role as chief operating officer, and was named acting president and CEO in September. He will oversee 470 employees at the nonprofit, with an annual operating budget of about $34 million.
Before joining Andrus, Murphy directed operations and management teams at organizations including Lincoln Educational Services, Jewish Theological Seminary of America and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
“Bryan has demonstrated the vision, leadership and skills necessary to guide and grow this 87-year-old agency,” John McLaughlin, chairman of the Andrus board of directors, said in a statement.
Murphy also has spent 20 years in fire department service as a chief and chaplain.
Andrus was founded in 1928 and has 14 locations, including a 107-acre location in north Yonkers, where the agency offers programs, treatment and mental health services for children in Westchester County.
