Gov. Cuomo announces reopening of bridges

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the re-opening of the Tappan Zee Bridge this morning, and that MTA bridges are open to emergency personnel.

The Tappan Zee Bridge re-opened at 9 a.m. this morning, though Cuomo warned against any unnecessary travel to allow repair crews to move quickly.

MTA bridges, which include the Whitestone, Henry Hudson and Verrazano Bridge, are only open to fire, police, first responders and medical personnel. Cuomo said they are still doing assessments about when to open the bridge to the public.
