Pitney Bowes offers new self-service data platform
Pitney Bowes Inc. has debuted its Software and Data Marketplace, a self-service platform offering data sets across the retail, insurance, real estate and financial services industries.
According to the Stamford-headquartered company, the new resource enables users to download its data catalog for sample data, such as address, boundary, demographic, geo-enrichment, point of interest and street information. A software development kit is also available through the marketplace that enables users to receive their products and updates automatically.
Bob Guidotti, executive vice president and president of software at Pitney Bowes, said that the platform was created in response to client requests for faster data access.
“The process of sourcing, cleansing and managing that data is often tedious, time-consuming and costly for most organizations,” Guidotti said. “By establishing the Pitney Bowes Software and Data Marketplace, we are removing the complexities our clients face by enabling access to the portfolio of location, individual, and address-centric data we”™ve amassed from a century”™s worth of mail-based data streams and making it readily available and interoperable for critical business functions.”
