Holland America installs Elon Musk’s Starlink across its fleet
Holland America Line announced it is more than halfway through updating internet to the Starlink satellite technology from Elon Musk’s SpaceX across its fleet of 11 ships.
Starlink is the most prominent Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology, providing high-speed internet around the world. Holland America said it received very positive feedback from its workforce and guests on the performance of Starlink-enabled Wi-Fi and plans to have the technology installed on the remainder of its fleet by mid-December.
“Our goal is to continue keeping all guests connected to the internet to share their memorable experiences, and to allow our team members to stay in touch with their loved ones back home,” said Kathleen Erickson, vice president of technology for Holland America Line. “It’s important we stay up to date with evolving technology to ensure the best experience for everyone stepping foot on our ships.”
Holland America Line is part of Carnival Corporation and plc (NYSE/LSE:CCL and NYSE:CUK).
