Of the eight hospitals that did not realize a gain in operating revenue, only one was in Fairfield County: Norwalk Hospital.
Gov. Ned Lamont focused on the continued ramping up of COVID-19 testing at today's briefing, noting that the number of weekly tests has increased from about 18,000 a couple of weeks ago to roughly 29,000 now.

“We have had patients having to travel 40-50 miles for cancer care, particularly with post-surgical procedures when they’re not feeling well," hospital president Norman Roth said. “There’s no reason to have to continue to do that.”
The former Maternity Unit at the Milford Campus, closed several years ago because of low patient volume and insufficient physician coverage, is being renovated into a “geriatric friendly” surgical unit.
In addition to short-term rehabilitation, The Watermark at 3030 Park is licensed to provide independent living, assisted living, skilled care and memory care.
Under the integration, the Yale New Haven Health System intends to develop the Milford campus of Bridgeport Hospital into a community hospital and center for gerontologic health
Following board approvals by Bridgeport, its parent organization Yale New Haven Health, and Milford, the organizations have signed an asset purchase agreement and will file for regulatory review of the transaction.
The $7 million project is two weeks away from finishing construction, the new NICU is due to host a ribbon-cutting event on Feb. 28.
Walk-in care is available at the center, which will soon finish renovations to include pediatrics, cardiology, primary care and other specialties.
The implementation will also include Yale New Haven, its Children’s Hospital and Smilow Cancer Hospital.
