Pronounced “NEW-vance,” the new system will serve 1.5 million residents across New York’s Hudson Valley and western Connecticut and consist of more than 2,600 physicians and 12,000 employees. Projected annual revenues of the system are $2.4 billion.
Among those criticizing aspects of the new governor's plan: Hospitals, accountants, and Republican lawmakers.
Nicastro will oversee the integrated surgical services at the three WCHN hospitals and all WCHN staff surgeons.

The 250,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open in 2021, pending city approval, according to the hospital.
“This isn’t just about Western Connecticut Health Network,” said Dr. Benjamin Greenblatt. “This is something that can benefit hospitals and patients everywhere.”
Patients from AFC’s nine Fairfield County urgent care locations will have improved access to primary and specialty care practices within WCMG.
Within the county, Stamford Hospital led with nearly $36.3 million in revenues.
If approved by authorities including the FTC, the move will create a new seven-hospital, $2.4 billion enterprise.
The agreement is the latest evidence of a growing trend for players in the health care space: Look for opportunities to join forces, or risk being left behind.
