The city’s labor force grew by over 800 people in 2019, and is the largest in the state with 71,758 workers.
“Our vacancy rate is an overall 5% throughout the town,” says Director of Economic Development Thomas Madden. “And we’re not a big-box place – we have a lot of Mom and Pop stores. That speaks volumes about the healthy market we have.”
The project’s second and final phase, which will add 184 apartments to its recently-opened 464 units, will begin in January and take about 15 months to complete, says developer David Barry.
“We believe that Stamford has emerged as a legitimate urban residential mecca,” says LMC Divisional President, New York/Tristate Area Greg Belew.
The city that claims to have been “Innovating since 1641” is one of the state’s – never mind Fairfield County’s – brightest stars at the moment in terms of business development, housing, population growth, and potential.
