Connecticut now has an estimated 1.7 million seasonally adjusted jobs and an estimated 80,000 jobless residents.
The firm provides electricity and natural gas to residential and commercial customers in 12 deregulated states, including Connecticut and New York.
The move is the culmination of parent company Siemens Health’s 2013 decision to close the Brookfield location and transition operations to Flanders, New Jersey.
All told, 80 percent of the state’s 169 municipalities added new establishments last year -- a growth rate of 7.5 percent since 2010.
The inaccuracies include overstating the number of jobs, failing to collect certain required information and reporting estimates that were off by tens of millions of dollars in 2017.
Retail and financial services led the way in May, with both now ahead of last year’s pace, said the state Department of Labor.
Within Fairfield County, both Redding and Wilton had the lowest unemployment rate in 2017 at 3.6 percent, followed closely by Ridgefield and Westport, both at 3.7 percent.
Connecticut’s unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.5 percent in January.
