Former Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino, a Republican, has announced his candidacy for the state senate seat currently held by Democrat Peter Harckham.

The gloomy skies didn’t deter more than 500 people from heading for Stuart’s Fruit Farm in Somers on Sept. 8 to attend the Family Farm Festival co-sponsored by the Westchester Land Trust (WLT) and the Somers Land Trust.
