According to a survey by credit score firm FICO, more than 11 percent of the U.S. population had low credit and 4 percent had bad credit in 2018.

Stamford-based Synchrony has been contracted by the Crate and Barrel to create a private label credit card and a dual-branded MasterCard for the home furnishing retail chain.
The financial services company, which was a subsidiary of GE Capital until it was spun off in 2014, reported fourth-quarter revenue of about $3.9 billion.
“I’ll get calls sometimes about what kinds of jobs can a person with a disability do,” said Kristine Foss. “It’s not necessarily a bad question."
Earnings were up slightly, while net interest income rose by 13 percent.
The highest ranked Connecticut company was Aetna, which took the No. 43 spot with $63 billion in revenue.
Sikorsky in Stratford was the highest-placing in the county, coming in at 58. The state of Connecticut placed 275th.
The Stamford-based consumer financial services firm also reported that loan receivables and deposit growth were up.
Synchrony Financial of Stamford, FactSet Research Systems of Norwalk and PURE Insurance of White Plains all made the list.
