Upon completion of all phases, the former 136-unit Washington Village public housing project will have been replaced with 273 new, modern apartments.
A recent bus tour by U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy and Mayor Harry Rilling highlighted a number of projects now underway.
The projects are among seven in the state that will collectively create 439 rental units: 348 designated as affordable and 91 as market rate.
Upon completion, Soundview Landing will replace the former 136-unit Washington Village public housing project with 273 new, modern apartments, inclusive of a one-for-one replacement of the 136 public housing units that previously existed.
The new complex, which involved the razing of the existing Washington Village and its 136 apartments, will feature a mix of workforce, public-housing and market-rate apartments as well as a new name: Soundview Landing.
