“My husband Frank and I never really had plans to own a movie theater before the opportunity presented itself,” says Jaimie Lockwood. “But we’d always kind of fantasized about opening some type of business here in Bethel.”
“The biggest shock for me was how many people around here are in bands,” says the co-founder of Newtown's Reverie Brewing Co. “There’s 40,000 people in Newtown and 10,000 bands – how does that work?”

The president of one Stamford company said she’d been sparring with Chase – her bank of choice for over 25 years – over her firm’s PPP loan practically since the program was announced. “They’re probably the poster child for incompetency," she said.
“Restaurants are not buying a lot of kegs these days,” one craft brewer noted wryly.
The brewery worked with Newtown’s Smart Roofs Solar to install a photovoltaic solar array on the roof of its building, offsetting 100% of its electrical usage.

Reverie Brewing Co. is under construction on Church Hill Road, while Asylum Brewing Co. has received the town’s okay to become the first for-profit commercial tenant at Fairfield Hills.
