Newtown is the latest Fairfield County location to move forward with the possible creation of a medical marijuana dispensary.
The commission denied four other medical marijuana dispensary applications, citing concerns about traffic and safety as well as the size of the proposed locations.
As has been the case for years, the debate over legalization essentially boils down to two standpoints: “It’s an idea whose time has come” vs. “Why do you think they call it ‘dope’?”
Fairfield County’s only medical marijuana dispensary, Bethel's Compassionate Care Center of Connecticut, was the first of its kind in the state.
