The company, which is co-headquartered in Stamford, has signed a nine-year lease for 44,277 square feet on the entire ninth and tenth floors of 1155 Avenue of the Americas, which sits opposite its offices at 1120 Avenue of the Americas.
“One of the keys (for Stamford and Norwalk) is the train stations,” says BLT Co-president Ted Ferrarone. “That just helps create the kinds of synergies that employers, employees and residents are all looking for right now.”
The company said the project has resulted in more than 100,000 square feet of new deals at the property, which consists of the 15-story, 249,000-square-foot 3 Stamford Plaza and the 15-story, 263,000-square-foot 4 Stamford Plaza.
According to the firm’s fourth quarter report, after recording moderate gains in each quarter of 2017, the county’s office market gradually gave back those advances in 2018.
The job site plans to invest $66 million toward its expansion and is exploring real estate options to accommodate the growth.
The internet job site is receiving a 15-year, $7 million low-interest loan to support the expansion from the state.
