“Instead of adding on more taxes, lawmakers should instead look towards policies that will help local businesses thrive," said CBIA President and CEO Chris DiPentima.
The bills “increase costs for small businesses, create barriers to job growth ... and unnecessarily hamper Connecticut’s economic recovery,” according to the organizations.
While one might expect David Lehman to call himself "very positive on Connecticut over the next two years,” he appears to have the data and vision to back that claim up.
Mayor Joe Cavo, who was sworn in last December, has yet to announce whether he will run in November; at least three Democrats are looking to oppose him.
“Give me a couple of weeks," the governor told the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce this morning about allowing more capacity at a range of events. "I don’t want to open wide and then pull back.”
Mark Boughton, who is in the midst of his record 10th term as the city’s mayor, will begin his new job on Dec. 18.
"If you are familiar with the West Side of Danbury, there seems to be a new restaurant popping up every other day," said Prunty.
Acknowledging that improvements “are not going to happen overnight," the governor promised that improvements to everything from Connecticut's economy and energy consumption to transportation and education are on the way.
Prunty once served as the community service coordinator for Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton.
Small companies are rapidly joining the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce, adding to the major players already in the city’s business community.
