D.C. firm new presence in Westchester
Synergy Workplaces, a New York City-based office-suite provider with a business center in Harrison, has been acquired by Preferred Offices, a 6-year-old company in Washington, D.C.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
Synergy operates a 25,000-square-foot office-suite center at 600 Mamaroneck Ave. in Harrison. Synergy”™s three employees will remain with the new owner.
The acquisition by the privately held Preferred Offices expands its operations from 10 locations in metropolitan Washington, D.C., to 23 offices and seven new markets that include Westchester, northern New Jersey, southern California, Florida, Atlanta, Boston and Chicago. The alternative workplaces serve more than 1,500 small businesses, independent professionals and entrepreneurs.
Preferred Group CEO Joe Wallace in a press release said Synergy Workplaces “has carved out a niche as one of the most innovative companies in the alternative workplace sector. This acquisition creates an opportunity for Preferred to build on that innovation and to expand into several key U.S. markets.”
“We believe that businesses are rethinking their approach to how they create and provision work environments ”“ they want to tie up less capital, shed long-term obligations, stay flexible and move the workplace closer to employees and clients,” Wallace said. “We aim to play a material part in that reshaping and to help change the way people work in the future.”
A spokesman for Preferred Offices said the company plans to rebrand its Synergy offices this fall.
