Author Jane Pollak to address WEDC
Westchester women will exchange business cards and insight Nov. 9 at the Women”™s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC) networking roundtable at Berkeley College in White Plains.
Anne Janiak, executive director of not-for-profit center, said the event was started nine years ago to support women in business.
“The event is important for women because it”™s an opportunity for women to do business, and help other women grow their business. The purpose of the event is to make contacts, build relationships and strengthen networking skills.”
The day”™s agenda includes breakfast, followed by a presentation from Jane Pollak, author and business coach.
Attendees can also participate in seminars such as “Taking risks and enjoying rewards” and “Making the most of your marketing dollar.”
In addition, Dana Reed, president of White Plains-based Spectrum Computer Corp., will receive the Lillian Vernon Award for community involvement and support of other women in business.
“It”™s the first time the award will be given through the WEDC,” Janiak said. “We are delighted to (honor) Dana with the award.”
The event is sponsored by the WEDC and the Alliance of Hudson Valley Women Business Owners. The cost is $60 per person. For information or to register, contact Candy Palmer at 914-948-6098, ext 10.
