Retail signings

Admiral Real Estate Services Corp. in Bronxville closed the following retail lease deals.

An Asian fusion restaurant is leasing 1,800 square feet at the Village Center Green at 724 Saw Mill River Road in Ardsley.

In Bedford Hills, the Benefit Shop consignment shop is leasing 2,700 square feet at 720 N. Bedford Road.

In Scarsdale, Little Pizza Kitchen Corp. will use 1,029 square feet to open a Thai restaurant at 13 Popham Road. Scarsdale Yoga Studios took out 7,000 square feet of retail and office space at 7 Popham Road.

In Mount Kisco, Petco has plans to open an 11,240-square-foot superstore this fall at 360 N. Bedford Road. Jon Gordon of Admiral Real Estate Services Corp., the shopping center”™s exclusive leasing agent, represented the owner in the transaction. Petco was represented by Brian Schuster of Ripco Real Estate Corp.

Healthy Choice Mattress is leasing 1,250 square feet at 681 Main St., Mount Kisco.

Green Earth Design Co. took 2,560 square feet at 200 E. Main St., Mount Kisco and a bakery is leasing 900 square feet at 200 E. Main St.

In Eastchester, Louie and Johnnies Cheese Steaks and Clam Bar is leasing 950 square feet at 33 Mill Road.

In Yonkers, Hard Knox Tattoo took 965 square feet at 1550 Central Park Ave.

 

Lord & Taylor goes green

Lord & Taylor, which has plans to open an anchor store at Yonkers mixed-use development Westchester”™s Ridge Hill, has signed a two-year contract with Green Mountain Energy Co. to develop wind power for 100 percent of its electric usage at its flagship Fifth Avenue and Eastchester stores.

That”™s the equivalent of 13 million kilowatt hours of power and will offset Lord & Taylor”™s carbon output by 20 million pounds a year.

Green Mountain Energy will buy renewable energy certificates on behalf of the retailer, which based on U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standards, now ranks No. 17 on the EPA”™s Top 20 Retail list.

 

Back-to-school savvy

Deloitte L.L.P. and an independent research company polled 1,000 parents of children grades K-12 on their shopping habits and just how those smartphones and social media will trend this back-to-school season. More than one-third of parents plan to use social networking sites to assist in their back-to-school shopping. Among those respondents, nearly seven out of 10 or 69 percent plan to do so to find out about promotions. Additionally, 44 percent plan to visit social networking sites to browse for products.
