PR pro opens spa in Croton-on-Hudson
Le Petite Spa is scheduled to open this month at Dr. Bard J. Levey”™s Smile Design Studio in Croton-on-Hudson.
The business will be a first for Ossining resident and Thompson & Bender public relations professional Mary Prenon.
She is starting small ”“ one room to be exact.
“If I start growing, I”™ll see if there is another room available,” she said. “I don”™t want to overextend myself at first. I”™m learning.”
Between equipment and products, approximate startup costs were $5,000, Prenon said.
Having obtained her esthetician”™s license in 2006, Prenon”™s love of the hospitality industry grew as she worked with a number of clients in that field.
The spa will have operating hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
“In upper Westchester County, it”™s not busy in the beginning of the week,” she said. “It really picks up on Thursday or Friday, so it didn”™t make sense for me to do something every day. It”™s not like Manhattan with the volume of people.
“I am a spa junkie myself and I didn”™t want to be sitting here 10 years from now saying, ”˜Oh, I should have done that. We (she and Levey) both offer services that make people look and feel better. We promote each other. It”™s a great little synergy.”
