Darien Commons signs three new retail tenants

Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE: FRT) announced the signing of three leases at Darien Commons, the new mixed-use property at 102 Heights Road in Darien.

The trio of new tenants moving into the space later this year include Sur La Table, which will bring its cooking and entertaining retail operation to a 5,529-square-foot space; Hammer & Nails, a luxury men”™s grooming shop the will open its second Connecticut location in a 2,609-square-foot space; and Chip City, a New York-based cookie bakery with a cult following, will open their second Connecticut location in a 1,373-square-foot unit.

Previously announced confirmed tenants include best-in-class dining, takeout, wellness, beauty, and retail such as Gregory”™s, Molto, Naya, One Medical, Salt + Sweat, Seamore”™s, Van Leeuwen and Warby Parker. Darien Commons also features a new 12,000-square-foot Walgreens and a recently renovated Equinox fitness club.

“The property construction phase at Darien Commons is now complete and we are very pleased with reactions from residents, neighbors and our retail partners,” said Patrick McMahon, senior vice president of development for Federal Realty. “The interest in the residential offering has been strong, and we expect to be fully leased by June. As retailers begin opening, we can feel a terrific community energy starting to build.”
