Chuck’s Steak House in Danbury acquired by owners of Barbarie’s Grill

The Barbarie family which owns Danbury’s popular Barbarie’s Grill has announced its acquisition of another beloved eatery in the city.

“With immense joy and anticipation, we share some wonderful news that has our hearts brimming with excitement: the Barbarie family has acquired the iconic Chuck’s Steak House, a beloved cornerstone of Danbury, Connecticut,” said the Barbaries in a social media posting. “As passionate restaurateurs, we are honored to have the opportunity to breathe new life into this esteemed establishment and return it to its former glory.”

The Barbaries did not provide a timeline on when they would reopen Chuck’s Steak House, a which opened its Danbury location in 1973 and operated until last week; the financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Chuck’s Steak House is a restaurant chain that also runs Connecticut restaurants in Mansfield, Rocky Hill and Storrs, as well as eateries in California, Florida, Hawaii, Massachusetts and South Carolina.

“In our eagerness to give Chuck’s the love it deserves, we will be undertaking a minor renovation to enhance its charm and functionality, ensuring that it is a place where memories continue to be made for years to come,” the Barbaries said in their announcement. “During this period of transformation, we invite you to join us at our current location, Barbarie’s Grill, nestled in the heart of the Danbury Fair Mall. Here, you can experience the same dedication to quality, service, and flavors that define our family’s culinary legacy.”
