U-Haul parent moves on $6.1M buy in New Rochelle

U-Haul”™s parent company, Arizona-based Amerco Real Estate Co., paid $6.1 million for a 152,000-square-foot industrial building that will house its moving and storage business in New Rochelle.

The building at 125 Beechwood Ave., on a 4.2-acre site near Interstate 95, will be used for U-Haul truck and van rentals and selling moving supplies, with other potential uses, said brokers at CBRE Group Inc. involved in the December deal.

Kevin Langtry, a vice president in CBRE”™s Westchester/Fairfield office, represented the seller, LARS Realty Co. of New Rochelle, in the transaction. Jami Savage, a vice president in CBRE”™s Phoenix office, and Kevin McCarthy, a vice president in CBRE”™s Westchester/Fairfield office, represented Amerco.

Langtry in a press release said the sale “really continues a trend of any relatively large block of industrial being scooped up by users, there aren”™t many options to purchase.”
