Study says Bridgeport and Yonkers worst cities for house flipping

Fans of HGTV programs about house flipping will probably not see residential properties in Bridgeport and Yonkers on their favorite shows ”“ they were ranked as the two worst cities for house flipping in a new data analysis by WalletHub.

In a study of 172 cities, WalletHub number-crunched 29 indicators including median purchase price, average full-home remodeling costs and housing market health. Bridgeport ranked last for a total score among the 172 localities, coming in last place for market potential while ranking 161st and 167th for renovation and remodeling costs and quality of life, respectively.

Yonkers came in second to last in its total score and for renovation and remodeling costs. However, it ranked 153rd for market potential and 94th for quality of life.

As for the top of the list, WalletHub crowned Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as the nation”™s best city for house flipping. Rounding out the top five on the list was Missoula, Montana; Rapid City, South Dakota; Billings, Montana; and Peoria, Arizona.
