Shelton office property sold to become self-storage facility

An office property at 917 Bridgeport Ave. in Shelton has been sold for conversion into a self-storage facility managed by Extra Space Storage.

The property covers 32,000 square feet, with two tenants in the northern portion of the building who will remain for the duration of their lease. The front portion of the building will be increased by the addition of three more floors.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Bruce Wettenstein, partner with Vidal/Wettenstein, negotiated the sale for the seller, 917 Bridgeport Ave. LLC, and the buyer, Kirchoff Acquisitions.
