Renovations to begin at Stamford’s Parkside Gables
The nonprofit Connecticut Housing Partners announced it has received funding from the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority for a renovation project at Parkside Gables, a housing community in Stamford.
Located at 235 West Ave., Parkside Gables was built in 1991 and encompasses 69 apartments spread across nine two- and three-story buildings. As part of the renovation, Connecticut Housing Partners will provide upgrades and improve the energy efficiency of the building systems and replacement of windows and doors, along renovating kitchens and bathrooms and interior improvements with painting and flooring.
The project will also include exterior improvements featuring new vinyl clapboard siding installed over rigid insulation for energy efficiency, replacement of roofing, gutter systems, drainage, upgrading sidewalks, and parking areas.
“These rehabilitations are critical for the sustainability of our properties so that we can continue to support an active and engaged group of residents and maintain the long-term affordability of the property,” said Renée Dobos, the CEO of Connecticut Housing Partners. “This will be the first complete renovation in many years. We like to think we help the most vulnerable. Living in a stable home provides a platform for improved outcomes around employment, health, education, and overall well-being.”
