Manhattan movers expand to Elmsford
Shleppers Moving & Storage Company, Inc., a 29-year-old New York City company and mover to the stars, has expanded into the Westchester County market with an office at 20 Knollwood Ave. in Elmsford. Â
Harrison resident Louisa Benjamin-Bohm, president and founder of Shleppers, said she has brought in new strategic partners and assembled a management “dream team” to execute the company”™s growth strategy.
Robert Friedland, founder of Yonkers-based Friedland Realty Inc. and Westrock Development L.L.C., will serve as chairman. Jason Friedland, president of Westrock Development and a former investment banker at Bear Stearns, will serve as chief financial officer. Allen Golan, who has an extensive background in the moving industry with Royal Moving Systems Inc. and a prominent Boston-based moving company, will serve as chief operating officer.
Shleppers also plans to expand its storage operations into Westchester in late 2007.
“With Bob and Jason”™s background in full-service commercial real estate, including privately held real estate investments, and Allen”™s expertise in the moving industry, we are now properly equipped to roll out our expansion plans,” Benjamin-Bohm said.
Bob Friedland said he has noted more and more companies seeking to move outside New York City to lower costs and streamline operations. “Shleppers”™ new location and management team will allow us to capitalize on this trend,” he said.
