Composer’s Ridgefield residence listed for $3.95M

The Ridgefield residence that was home to Jim Steinman, composer of the classic songs “I’d Do Anything for Love” and “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” has been listed for sale at $3.95 million.

The property at 22 Ketcham Road is on a 1.56-acre lot, and the 6,183-square-foot residence was built in 1920 and features two bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Steinman lived at the property for nearly 30 years prior to his passing in April 2021. According to the listing, “To honor Jim’s legacy, it is the estate’s intention to find the next custodian who will be enthralled by the transformative power of Jim’s home & art. Jim commissioned prestigious New England architect, Rob Bramhall, to execute his vision. Jim spent over $6M in the construction alone, & his divine collections are truly priceless (inquire for the Art Catalogue). The sum total of the individual components in this offering is believed to far exceed the list price, but the intention is to honor Jim by keeping his sanctuary intact.”
