Armonk assisted-living facility nears final approval
Plans for a new assisted-living development in Armonk are quickly moving forward, making it likely there will be at least two major real estate projects under way in the tiny hamlet in 2012.
Just weeks after the 3-plus acre Armonk Square development received the final go-ahead from the town of North Castle, the town board on Oct. 26 approved a special use permit for Sutton Court, a 105,000-square-foot assisted-living facility, making site plan approval by the planning board the last remaining hurdle.
The facility, projected to have some 140 rental units and 160 to 170 beds, will be built at 90 Business Park Drive pending final approval and will be the eighth assisted -living community owned and operated by the Engel Burman Group, a Long Island-based developer.
Final approval may come as soon as the end of November, said Anthony Veneziano, owner and principal of Veneziano and Associates in Armonk, which represents Engel Burman.
“We expect to appear before the architecture review board (the week of Nov. 7) and secure their input, allowing the planning board to grant site plan approval by the end of the month,” Veneziano said, adding the town has moved along proceedings “in a very timely manner.”
