$1.5M home being built on Fairfield property without owner’s permission

A Long Island doctor is suing a real estate investor after discovering a $1.5 million house was being constructed on his Fairfield property without his permission.

According to a Washington Post report, Dr. Daniel Kenisberg owns a tree-covered 0.45-acre lot in Fairfield and has rejected multiple offers to sell the property. On May 31, he was in Fairfield and discovered to his horror that construction was underway at the parcel on the new luxury home.

An investigation by Kenisberg”™s attorney determined that someone in Johannesburg, South Africa, impersonated him and listed the property for sale. Last October, the real estate investor firm 51 Sky Top Partners purchased the property from the fraudster for $350,000 and hired a construction company to build a home at the site. A listing for the 4,000-square-foot house appeared online in March.

Construction on the house has ceased and Kenisberg has filed a lawsuit against 51 Sky Top Partners that demands the nullification of the deed transfer created by the fraudster, the demolition of the house and the replanting of the trees and grass that were torn up during the construction. The Fairfield Police Department is conducting its own investigation into the matter.
