Talent line-up announced for White Plains’ Serious Fun Arts Fest
The Serious Fun Arts Fest has announced a line-up of performing and visual artists for its Oct. 12-16 happening in downtown White Plains.
The event will include live mural painting, a public art walking tour, concerts and performance and family activities. The New York City-based band Sammy Rae & The Friends (pictured here) will be the headliner for an outdoor concert on Oct. 16., and public art unveilings will include a two-story reflective stainless-steel tear drop sculpture by Bulgarian artist Georgi Minchev, a nine-story vibrant fabric installation by Amanda Browder and two major art installations by Barbara Takanaga at the White Plains Station.
“This festival combines public art projects that have been completed and many new ones in a five-day event that will attract new visitors and position White Plains as a creative force in the county well into the future,” said White Plains Mayor Tom Roach.
