STUDENTS MAKE THANKSGIVING MEALS FOR FAMILIES IN NEED

Loading up the truck with Thanksgiving food from left: Colleen Carey, Shannon Burke and Grace Proaño, all from Yonkers.

Projecting the spirit of giving on Thanksgiving the students at Maria Regina, the all-girls Catholic high school in Hawthorne, New York, donated more than 200 bags of food, which they had packed, including frozen turkeys and canned goods to St. Peter/St. Denis Church’s Food Pantry in Yonkers.

As a result of the school’s annual Thanksgiving Food Drive families in need enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving Day meal.

Young women at Maria Regina are encouraged to achieve academic excellence, empowered to be compassionate leaders and enriched with the spirit to live a life of charity, truth, and service to others.
