Mount Kisco Child Care Center (MKCCC), a nonprofit, NAEYC-accredited childcare facility, was recently awarded a $50,000 grant from the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) Northeast division. The IICF makes its grants in the focus areas of education, children at risk, disaster preparedness and the environment across the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut tristate area.

Sound Shore Medical Center (SSMC) in New Rochelle recently announced that its new program for individuals choosing hip and knee replacement surgery has earned the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission as a certified center of excellence.

Certification by The Joint Commission demonstrates SSMC”™s compliance with national standards for health care quality and safety in hip and knee replacements. SSMC is one of only 307 hospitals nationally to merit certification in both hip and knee joint replacements, one of only 12 in New York state and the first and only hospital in Westchester County to earn this dual distinction.
