The Shoppes at Lake Street was the brainchild of a local business owner who wanted to bring more shoppers to the village of Monroe”™s Main Street. The result is The Shoppes at Lake Street LLC, which provides the space home-based start-ups need to promote their products. Open Friday through Sunday each week, it also offers a weekend event to help encourage visitors. Former Met/Yankee Dwight Gooden made an appearance on Saturday, April 9, signing autographs and chatting with fans of all ages. More than 20 new start-ups have taken space at the Lake Street location, which expects to see business grow as the popular location”™s outdoor dining season begins.
