Credits, Clients and Awards: Fairfield County 9-24-12

Bank of America employees recently volunteered at Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County’s eighth annual Women’s Build and presented a $25,000 grant to the organization. The funds are part of a recently announced $200,000 in housing-related grants that will impact low- and moderate-income communities throughout Connecticut.

First County Bank Foundation in Stamford has announced seven grants totaling $35,000 for innovative programs promoting literacy, health care and nutrition for individuals and families in Greenwich.  The following Greenwich-based nonprofits received First County Bank Foundation grants:

Abilis received a $5,000 grant.
Family Centers Inc. received a $2,500 grant.
Greenwich Alliance for Education received a $5,000 grant.
Jewish Family Services of Greenwich received a $2,500 grant.
Kids in Crisis received a $15,000 grant.
Neighbor to Neighbor received a $2,500 grant.
United Way received a $2,500 grant.

Family Centers, a nonprofit organization offering education and human services to children, adults and families in Fairfield County, has received a four-star rating for outstanding fiscal management from Charity Navigator, an evaluator of U.S. charities. This is the sixth consecutive year that Family Centers received the four-star rating.

Robinson & Cole L.L.P. announced 10 of its attorneys have been named 2013 “Lawyers of the Year” by Best Lawyers in America, including Richard A. Krantz in Stamord. Each year, Best Lawyers conducts peer-review surveys in which thousands of lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers.

Loretta Nolan of Loretta Nolan Associates L.L.C. in Greenwich has been named among this year’s 100 Top Wealth Managers, for the third consecutive year. The ranking was compiled by AdvisorOne and Investment Advisor, a publication of Summit Business Media, using an online survey to more than 280 participating wealth management firms nationwide.
