David Tutera, celebrity wedding planner and host of Women”™s Entertainment network”™s (WE) “My Fair Wedding,” will present at the “Something Blue” bridal event at The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester on Sunday, Feb. 22.
“David is our partner in events, he does all of our florals,” said Marcie McGeehan, director of sales and marketing at Ritz-Carlton, Westchester. “He will be doing a presentation on the latest trends in weddings ”¦ We wanted to creatively put on an event without it being a standard trade show. It”™s more of a showcase of what Westchester County has to offer.”
Vendors including Neiman Marcus, Wilson & Son Jewelers, Anna Shea”™s Chocolates and Fontana Bridal will provide consultations. Event attendees will also be treated to a fashion show, samplings, music and a grooms”™ lounge for male guests.
But, the question on everyone”™s minds: Are brides still spending big? “There are so many creative ways to fit any budget,” McGeehan said. “With a wedding, it”™s a matter of choice for the bride and groom; it”™s about focusing on pieces that are most important to them.”
A portion of proceeds from “Something Blue” will be donated to My Sisters”™ Place in White Plains, a resource in domestic violence programming, advocacy and legal services. Tickets are $25; the event is scheduled 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. For information, call 467-5820.Â
