United Way of Westchester and Putnam awards $150K in grants
United Way of Westchester and Putnam has awarded $150,000 in grants to 29 nonprofit organizations across the region in its 2023 Community Impact Grant program.
United Way received 165 proposals for this grant cycle, and more than 50% of the grantees are led by a person of color or a member of the LGBTQ community. Additionally, awards were given to nonprofits with a diverse set of board members ”“ which the organization stated was a reflection of its dedication to ensuring its grantmaking reflects the diversity of the region.
“We are thrilled to support these outstanding organizations,” said Tom Gabriel, president and CEO of United Way. “Each one of them is doing critical work to address the pressing needs of our community and we are proud to partner with them in their efforts.”
