Panel to discuss unconscious bias in the workplace

The YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester will present a panel discussion themed “Unconscious Bias: A Conversation about Race in the Workplace” on Thursday, April 28 at the YWCA Stand Against Racism, an event hosted by MasterCard at its headquarters in Purchase.

Panelists include:

  • Earl “Butch” Graves, Jr., president and CEO of Black Enterprise;
  • Donna Johnson, chief diversity officer at MasterCard;
  • and Dr. Mona Lau, Adjunct Professor at Manhattanville College.

Unconscious bias maintains a disconnect between decisions made and the impact on the person or group at the receiving end. The discussion will focus on solutions, model programs and promising initiatives and is part of the YWCA”™s national strategy to fulfill its mission of eliminating racism.

The event will take place from 8 to 10 am. Registration is $30. For more information or to register, visit standagainstracism.eventbrite.com or ywcawpcw.org.
