The nonprofit volunteer Tivoli Fire Co. Inc. has begun a GoFundMe campaign to rebuild its firehouse, which burned down on the night of July 5.

The organization, which serves the village of Tivoli in Dutchess County, was able to rescue a fire engine, UTV and boat before the fire destroyed its firehouse, as well as a second fire engine and an ambulance. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

“As devastating as this fire is, no one was hurt,” Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro wrote on Twitter. “Equipment can be replaced and structures rebuilt. Having been a member of this Tivoli Fire Department and mayor of this amazing village, I know how deeply they feel this loss but also how resilient we are.”

The GoFundMe campaign was launched on July 6 with a $50,000 goal. As of this morning, nearly $3,500 was raised.
